HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets and quaddie numbers for this week’s seven-race card at Newcastle, which is set to kick off at 1:50pm AEDT on Tuesday afternoon. The track is currently rated a Soft 6, and the rail is in the true position for the entire circumference of the course.

Best Bet: Eleusa

James Cummings saddles up a nice three-year-old filly in Eleusa in the last race. The daughter of Medaglia d’Oro has had four starts for two wins and two second placings, including a debut victory at this track. She has had two runs in this campaign, finishing second to the talented All Hallow’s Eve when fresh and then beating the likes of Yardstick and Seleque at Hawkesbury. Drawn in gate two under Brodie Loy, she will be ridden in the middle of the pack with cover and can utilise the big Newcastle straight late.

Best BetRace 7 – Eleusa (#11) $5.50 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Snowdrop

Snowdrop looks perfectly placed in the opening race of the day and gets in only half a kilogram above the minimum thanks to Qin Yong’s 3kg claim. The two-year-old daughter of Capitalist was only beaten half a length on debut at this track and distance in the Max Lees Classic behind Sliders, before finishing ninth in the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic won by She’s All Class. From barrier four, this filly will go straight to the front and should prove a touch too classy.

Next BestRace 1 – Snowdrop (#1) $4.50 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Armatree

While this Snowden-trained gelding isn’t massive value in terms of an each-way prospect, the son of Vancouver does appear to be over the odds in our opinion and should be closer to the favourite, Rustic Steel, who was plain last start. Armatree has had just three career starts, including a fourth place to Tommy Gold on debut in a race that has produced nine subsequent winners. He went on to frank the form himself in his next start, beating Dance and a further six future winners. After six months on the sidelines he resumed with a third behind Private Eye, who only lost for the first time in six races on Saturday in the Listed Darby Munro at Rosehill. The form lines are too strong to see this three-year-old being beaten in this. Golden Slipper-winning hoop Tommy Berry will do the steering, and the pair should have every possible chance from the inside alley.

Best ValueRace 6 – Armatree (#5) $4.60 with Sportsbet
