First Race 1:20pm AEDT

HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst presents his best bets, quaddie numbers and odds from Australia’s leading online bookmakers for the eight-race card at Newcastle on Monday afternoon. The track is rated a Good 4, with the rail out 3m from the 1000m-400m and out 1m from the 400m to the winning post and true the remainder, for the meeting getting underway at 1:20pm AEDT.

Newcastle Best Bet – Five Crowns

Impressive debut winner Five Crowns from the Kris Lees stable comes to the Newcastle 1350m and looks well placed to make it two wins from two starts. The four-year-old son of Sacred Falls hit the lead with 200m to go at Muswellbrook and despite being left in front a fair away out from home did enough to hold on. From barrier eight and with speed drawn to his outside, we expect Aaron Bullock who retains the ride to get a nice cart across the front of the field where expect to see him settle outside the leader or in the one-one. With a run like that, it is hard to see how Five Crowns gets beaten and we expect he will handle the step into BM58 with great aplomb.

Next Best Bet at Newcastle – Arabolini

The Cessnock Cup is over 2100m is the feature event on Monday afternoon and we expect the John Cooper-trained Arabolini looks the clear and obvious bet. Having chased home Savvy Valentino on October 13 who has since come out and run second behind Torrens at Stakes level on Saturday, the form line looks to be the strongest here heading into Monday’s race. Having drawn barrier one, Jeff Penza will roll forward on the son of Pomellato and despite still being a maiden on firmer ground, he looks to have a touch of class on this lot.

Next BestRace 7 – Arabolini (#2) $3.20 with Sportsbet

Best Value Bet at Newcastle – Victorella

Louise Munce brings here four-year-old mare Victorella to the Newcastle 1150m having returned from a four-month spell at Muswellbrook on October 4 with a second-placed finish behind Quick Tempo. Despite not winning in close to 12 months, the Press Statement mare will most likely look to get back in the second half of the field and run on. The likes of Jaytees and Ready To Chase will make this a genuine 1150m event and with a nice turn of we expect Victorella to find over the top of her rivals, especially if she can replicate her run at Muswellbrook.

Best ValueRace 6 – Victorella (#7) $14 with Sportsbet
