The North Island of New Zealand is hosting another race meeting on Saturday and it’s being held at New Plymouth an eight race program being runon what willbe a heavy surface with showers forecast on the day. The first race begins at 12.30pm (NZST).
New Plymouth Best Bet: Uraskyfullastars
Uraskyfullastars in race eight is our best bet of the day. This three-year-old filly by Tarzino Emergedis going for her third win in a row and the step up to 1600m looks ideal. This filly handles heavy going, having run three times in those conditions for 2 wins and a placing. Local trainer Robbie Patterson rarely leaves New Plymouth without a win and with renowned jockey Craig Grylls doing the riding, we’re hopeful Uraskyfullastars can go very close to making it three wins in a row.

Next Best Bet: Mr Didgeridoo
The next best comes in race six with the Allan Sharrock trained Mr Didgeridoo looking to remain unbeaten on the track. This three-year-old Derryn gelding won his first startimpressively here on the track, before running a nice fifth at his next start at Otaki on a testing track. Back on his home track and with regular jockey Jonathan Parkes riding we think he can run a much-improved race from a nice barrier of three.

Next Best Again At New Plymouth: Zeefa Zed
The John Wheeler-trained Zeefa Zed is our value bet at New Plymouth in race seven. This eight-year-old gelding by Zed Winkum won well last start and has been a winner twice on the track previously. His best runs have come on the heavy surface and from the barrier of three we expect him to settle midfield before running home well in the straight for jockey Kate Hercock. There should be a good each way price to be found on this runner with the top bookmakers.
