Best Bet at Murray Bridge – Our Destrier

Our best bet of the day comes up nice and early when the Kym Hann-trained Our Destrier steps out over the mile in small six horse field. The five-year-old son of Zoustar has strung together consecutive wins for the second time in his career and his set to get a whopping 10kg off market rival Dexter You Devil following Ben Price’s 3kg claim. Despite drawing barrier one, we expect to see Price settle Our Destrier towards the rear of the field and not be too far from the speed throughout. If he can gain a nice tow into the race, then Our Destrier has a better turn of foot than his rivals in the race and with even luck should be finishing the better thanks to the light weight on his back.

Next Best at Murray Bridge – Desired

One of our better bets of the day comes up in the final event when Tony & Calvin McEvoy saddle up Desired when she steps out over 1000m. The three-year-old filly out of Rich Enuff chased home the smart Appalachian last time out over the 900m at Murray Bridge and despite peaking on her run inside the final 50m last time out, we expect the extra 100m she gets on Saturday to prove beneficial. She draws barrier one, so she is sure to gain a suck run in transit and with even luck in the early part of the home straight, we expect Desired to be too strong late for her rivals and bring up a deserved second career win.

Best Value at Murray Bridge – Blah Blah Blah

In the second leg of the quaddie the Ryan Balfour-trained Blah Blah Blah will be out to break a string of minor placings this campaign when competing in a BM72 over 1400m. He did well to only be beaten just over 1.5 lengths last time out at Gawler having travelled three wide with no cover the trip close to the speed. This will be the four-year-old son of Outreach’s first start at 1400m, but with better luck in the running, we expect to see him handle the extra 200m with great aplomb. His sole career win came at 1300m when third-up, so we’re hoping the 1400m third-up this time around proves to be the recipe for success.
