For the first time since March 5, a Saturday metropolitan meeting will take place at Murray Bridge Racing Club this weekend. The track has come up a Good 4, with the rail out 8m from 1000m to the winning post, 5m in the 1200m chute, and out 3m for the remainder. The first on a massive 10-race card is set to jump at 10:57am ACST.
Best Bet at Murray Bridge: Castle Of Kings
The Will Clarken-trained Castle Of Kings returned with a classy victory at Gawler on May 11 in BM58 company, and we expect he will show his class once again in BM64 grade. Having gained the perfect run in transit that day, the four-year-old gelding was quick to go to the front in the home turn and scored with plenty left in the tank. From barrier nine, with apprentice Ben Price on board claiming 2kg, the Castledale gelding is set to go around with 58kg on his back. He has an impressive 7: 2-3-1 record and looks perfectly placed to build on that. With little to no early speed engaged, we expect Price will take Castle Of Kings to the front, where he should ultimately prove far too hard to run down.

Next Best at Murray Bridge: Starts With Hello
The Richard & Chantelle Jolly yard and jockey Jake Toeroek make a formidable pairing, and they are set to combine once again with Starts With Hello. The three-year-old gelding settled towards the rear of the field on debut at Gawler on May 4 but made up stacks of ground inside the final furlong. He seems to be a horse who likes to let things unfold before producing a strong finishing burst, which he should be able to do on Saturday with a genuinely run 1100m expected. Look for Toeroek to have the Nicconi gelding moving approaching the turn, and if he can deliver a similar finish to what he did on debut, then Starts With Hello should prove too good for this lot.

Best Value at Murray Bridge: Till It’s Over
One we are happy to give a push at a price is the Paul Preusker-trained Till It’s Over, who comes to Murray Bridge on the back of an impressive win in similar company at Mount Gambier. The four-year-old mare settle last in a race with a slow tempo, but despite giving her rivals a start, she gave them an equally impressive beating. The drop back to 1800m from the 2069m should be no hinderance to her chances, with a genuinely run 1800m expected. She will once again be giving her rivals a start, but considering this is similar company to what she won against last time out, we simply cannot let her go around with some of our hard-earned on. The $21 on offer with online betting sites is simply too good to be true in our opinion.
