|When||Monday, September 13, 2021|
|First Race||1:25pm AEST|
Moruya racecourse is set to host a seven-race card on Monday afternoon and Horsebetting.com.au’s country New South Wales form expert presents his best bets, free quaddie numbers and odds from Australia’s leading online bookmakers. The track is rated a Soft 5, with the rail out 3m from the 1000m to the 380m where the cutaway then applies, for the meeting getting underway at 1:25pm AEST.
Moruya Best Bet: Mittata
Emma and Lucy Longmire bring their four-year-old gelding Mittata back to Moruya following a close up fourth at the track over 1200m on August 15. With four weeks between runs and stepping up to the 1425m here third up from a spell, the Shooting to Win gelding gelding looks perfectly placed to bring up a second win from three runs this campaign. From barrier 13, he will need a bit of luck early on under Nick Heywood but armed with early barrier speed he should have no qualms in crossing to the front of the field. His maiden win two starts back saw him jump from barrier 11 and hunt for the rails, where he successfully dictated throughout and with similar fortunes here on Sunday he should be continuing his strong form with another win.
Next Best at Moruya: Iconically
The Barbara Joseph, Paul and Matt Jones yard saddle up four-year-old mare Iconically who is another runner who will look to go forward and run her rivals ragged. The Zoustar mare was a dominant winner at Queanbeyan on August 24 where she managed to lead the field up and kick clear on the home turn to go on to score by 2.5 lengths. From barrier nine and with Jordan Mallyon retaining the ride, we anticipate it will be a carbon copy of her last start win and in a race with a few chances, she should prove hard to run down at a nice price.
