Morphettville is scheduled to host a nine-race card on Saturday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s South Australian horse racing expert presents his best bets and free quaddie selections for the day. The track is rated a Good 4, with the rail out 9m from the 1200m to the winning post and then out 7m for the remainder. Racing is set to kick off at 12:05pm ACDT (12:35pm AEDT).
Morphettville Best Bet – Regalo Di Gaetano
The Richard & Chantelle Jolly-trained Regalo Di Gaetano was an impressive winner of the Listed Murray Bridge Cup on October 15, and we think he can go on with it here in the Listed John Letts Cup. The six-year-old son of Supreme Class managed to build through his gears nicely on that day, settling in the second half of the field and ultimately proving too hard to hold out. He won this race last year, and if he brings the type of performance from his last-start win, there looks to be no reason why he cannot defend his title. With Ritratto expected to make this a genuinely run 1800m event, it should be set up perfectly for Regalo Di Gaetano to finish right over the top of his rivals.
Next Best Bet at Morphettville – Rock The Ring
Tony & Calvin McEvoy will be hoping that Rock The Ring can make it three wins in a row this Saturday. Having won at the Morphettville 1200m two runs back on September 18, we have no doubt he will handle the track and distance. He has shown clean barrier manners throughout this campaign, and from barrier eight, we expect Barend Vorster to hunt for the rail and dictate terms throughout. With all but Extra Time racing in poor form of late, we anticipate Rock The Ring will continue on his winning ways.
Best Value Bet at Morphettville – Enlist
We were with Enlist in the final race of the day on October 16 and he rewarded us at around the $14 mark. His quote is halved for Saturday’s race, but this looks no harder than what he faced last time out. From barrier six, we expect Todd Pannell to have him in the second half in the field, where he can have him moving in the home straight. If he brings a similar turn of foot as he did last time out, he should once again prove too hard to run down at a nice price.
