We race on the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday afternoon as the club gears up for Adelaide Cup Day on Monday. Morphettville Parks Best Bet – Taramansour
The Matt Cumani-trained Taramansour comes to the Morphettville Parks 2250m following a close-up defeat to Crystal Pegasus at Flemington on February 19. He was only beaten by two lengths on that day, with Crystal Pegasus since coming out and smashing his rivals in the Roy Higgins Quality a week ago. However, this five-year-old entire struck plenty of traffic issues in the home straight at Flemington and was entitled to finish even closer than what he did. The booking of Madison Lloyd is a big bonus, as following her 3kg claim the Dansili entire goes around with just 61kg. He will stay all day and with this being much easier than his last start, we expect Taramansour’s class to shine through.
Next Best Bet at Morphettville Parks – Struck By
The way the Travis Doudle-trained Struck By won when fresh on February 26 suggested he was one to follow this campaign, and he looks well-placed to bring up consecutive wins when he steps up to the 1300m. The four-year-old Barbados gelding managed to find the rail, dictate terms and kick clear with 59kg on his back and never really looked like getting beaten. He goes up 1kg following Jacob Opperman’s 2kg claim, and in a race that is no harder than the field he thrashed, he should prove hard to run down once again. There looks to be a touch more pressure in this, so Opperman should look to snick back in the trailing pair and then finish over the top of some tired leaders.
Best Value Bet at Morphettville Parks – Brazen Boy
In the final race of the day, we are expecting the Phillip Stokes-trained Brazen Boy can run his rivals ragged over the 1000m. He is an out-and-out speedster and will look to break his rivals’ hearts with his high cruising speed. He looked to have plenty of excuses at Murray Bridge on February 2 and, with five weeks between runs, should be raring to go in this. Prior to that Murray Bridge mishap, he led throughout at Oakbank when winning with relative ease, and if he runs to that type of form in this, he looks a great value play in the last. The $12 on offer from Bet365 is hard to pass up.
