Wednesday racing tips for Morphettville
South Australian racing will resume at 12:25pm local time on Wednesday at the Morphettville Parks circuit after the state was forced into a short lockdown following a COVID-19 outbreak. The nine races that were set down for last Saturday have been transferred to this meeting, and there looks to be plenty of value to be had throughout the card. The track has come a Good 4 and the rail is out 6m, so it may be beneficial to be up on speed early on in the meeting.
Tony McEvoy and Barend Vorster strike at almost 30% as a pairing, and we are hoping our top tip at Morphettville can improve that record in the Furphy Handicap. The six-year-old gelding drops back to the 1300m for just the second time in his career but looks hard to hold out from barrier six and should get a nice run in transit just off the leaders’ heels. All he will need is a touch of luck at the top of the straight, in which case he should be hard to go past.

Grant Young and Jason Holder will look to build on the impressive record this four-year-old mare has put together in her short career. She has three wins from five career starts and has only missed the placings once. She couldn’t be run down last time out over the track and distance, and now she meets the runner-up on that day 1.5kg better off. She will need a little bit of luck early on, but if she can get to the rails, Exalted Zoe will be extremely hard to run down.

Tony McEvoy’s three-year-old filly was a touch disappointing upon resumption at Morphettville six weeks ago when finishing midfield despite a handy run in transit. She sat one out, one back and was beaten three lengths in the end, but she looks like she will enjoy the small field she meets here. With only six horses in the race, Daniyah maps to take up the running with ease. If she gets an easy time of it up front, she may prove hard to run down if rated correctly by Barend Vorster.
