What Morphettville Parks Races
Where Morphettville Parks Racecourse – 79 Morphett Rd, Morphettville SA 5043
When Saturday, March 19, 2022
First Race 12:07pm ACDT

For a second successive week we are racing on the Parks track at Morphettville where a nine-race card is set down for judgement on Saturday. Considering the track played in a fair and even manner last week, Horsebetting’s Adelaide form expert is confident in steering you into a few winners, with odds provided by Australia’s best online bookmakers. The rail comes out to the 8m mark from the 1000m to the winning post, with it being out 5m the remainder of the circuit on a track rated a Soft 5. The first of nine races is set to jump at 12:07pm ACDT (12:37pm AEDT).

Morphettville Parks Best Bet – All Banter

The Richard & Chantelle Jolly-trained All Banter was beaten under a length by some proven group racing quality horses at Flemington in the Bob Hoysted Handicap on March 5 and is set to appreciate the drop back to a BM86 at Morphettville on Saturday. Having led the small group on the rails, the four-year-old mare did well to stick on and not be beaten far, with the eventual winner coming from the group on the outside rail. Having beaten proven sprinters like Enthaar and Trekking home, while finishing on the heels of Malkovich, Brooklyn Hustle and Express Pass, All Banter’s form is more than good enough for a race like this. From barrier three, we expect Campbell Rawiller to let rival Spanish Heirloom bound along in front and take a sit off the speed, and have All Banter pulling off her back inside the final 250m. If All Banter is anywhere near her best, the $2.50 is a crazy good price from Bet365.

Next Best Bet at Morphettville Parks – Appalachian

Fresh from a short 11-week spell, we are expecting the David Jolly-trained Appalachian can add a fourth win when resuming from a spell in what will be his sixth campaign. The lightly raced six-year-old gelding had just two starts in the summer where he managed to win both of those in races that simply did not suit his get back and run on pattern. He strikes a field that looks set to make this a genuinely run 1000m scamper on his return and despite being the likely backmarker on paper, his turn of foot is electric and should simply prove too hard for a field like this to hold out. His main market rival Larkham struggled to completely hold out a swooper last week and we expect it to be a similar story this time around. We’re more than happy to take the $2.90 on offer from Neds for Appalachian.

Next BestRace 8 – Struck By (#2) $2.90 with Neds

Best Value Bet at Morphettville Parks – West Cliff

Father and son duo Jamie & Jacob Opperman are set to combine once again with last start Strathalbyn winner West Cliff. His last start win was his second from four starts and considering the Canford Cliffs gelding has not finished worse than third in his past five starts, he is clearly racing in career best form. From barrier 10, Opperman will need to be aggressive early on in attempting to find cover close to the speed, but if he can have him settled one or two pairs back with cover, then West Cliff looks more than capable of taking out a race like this on Saturday.

Best ValueRace 7 – West Cliff (#7) $8.50 with Sportsbet
