The Parks track at Morphettville is the destination for metropolitan racing in South Australia on Saturday afternoon. With plenty of rain in the area this week, we look set to be racing on a Soft 7, while the rail will be out 9m from the 1000m to the winning post and then out 6m for the remainder. History says it will be advantageous to be up on speed throughout. The nine-race card is set to get underway at 11:42am ACST.
Best Bet at Morphettville: Morean
The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained Morean comes across to Adelaide following strong form in Victoria and looks well placed to bring up a deserved win. The three-year-old filly has not tasted success since her debut, but six starts later she should be bringing up a second career win. In her five starts since, she has gone down by a combined two lengths, and more of that form should see her win this. From barrier four, look for Ben Price to use his 2kg claim to his advantage and have his mount position in the one-one throughout. Morean clearly has the best form heading into this BM62 for fillies and mares, and the $3.10 with online bookmakers is a price we are willing to get involved at.

Next Best at Morphettville: Birdies Galore
Birdies Galore from the Patrick Payne yard is a filly with an abundance of talent, and considering she has won both of her career starts when up on speed, she looks the one to catch in the Listed Oaklands Plate. Despite drawing barrier 10, Cory Parish should have no issue in lobbing this daughter of Spieth out in front where the pair can dictate terms throughout. With the rail where it is on Saturday, it should prove hard to catch a leader who gets a quiet time of it out in front. The $4 on offer with online betting sites is a ridiculous price, as she already has a win to her name on the Parks track and looks to be a filly with untapped potential.

Best Value at Morphettville: Hanabi
We were with the Phillip Stokes-trained Hanabi when she returned at Murray Bridge, where she basically did nothing when out the back throughout. Prior to that first-up run, she had destroyed her rivals in a couple of trials, and with that effort at Murray Bridge being her first start at the races for nine months, we expect she has taken improvement from it. From barrier 14, Kayla Crowther surely has to roll forward aboard the filly. If she can lead this field up, Hanabi may just have a bit too much toe for her rivals.
