There are eight races set to be run and won at Mornington on Tuesday afternoon, and HorseBetting.com.au has you covered with betting tips, top odds and quaddie numbers. With the track rated a Soft 6 and the rail out 3m, we are set for a competitive day of midweek racing on the Peninsula. Clear skies and a top of only 20 degrees should see the track play fairly, with the first race set to jump at 1:30pm AEDT.

Best Bet: Sodbuster

It is unclear what Sodbuster actually beat at Kilmore on March 11, but when you break your maiden by eight lengths in an all-the-way victory, it is hard to ignore. What made that win even more impressive was that the All Too Hard filly was going away from her rivals despite setting the pace throughout. From barrier seven, we expect Lachlan King to have her up on speed again as Brad Parnham did last start. Prior to her maiden win, Sodbuster had been taking a sit off her rivals, but perhaps the Corstens team had been running her upside down this whole time. With a bit of luck, it will be consecutive wins for three-year-old.

Best BetRace 7 – Sodbuster (#5) $2.50 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Hummalong

Runners who are based at Mornington often have a big advantage over their rivals, and that seems to be the case for the John McArdle-trained Hummalong in the second leg of Tuesday’s quaddie. The Hallowed Crown mare is yet to miss the top three from three starts over the Mornington 1000m, and one of those was a win. It is similar reading for Hummalong’s first-up record, with three runner-up performances and a third placing from four starts. If McArdle has Hummalong raring to go first up, then she will be hard to hold out.

Next BestRace 6 – Hummalong (#1) $3.70 with Sportsbet

Best Value: It’s Pins

The Jason Warren-trained It’s Pins returned in solid enough form at Yarra Valley on March 4 to suggest she will be more than competitive at Mornington. The filly out of Pins chased home a smart one when going down by just under two lengths, but that run showed she has a maiden victory in her during this campaign. From barrier nine, expect jockey Damien Thornton to settle her midfield and then ask for an effort on the home turn. There is no reason why It’s Pins cannot be fighting out the finish.

Best ValueRace 2 – It’s Pins (#7) $6 with Sportsbet
