While he hasn’t won in close to three years, Cliff Brown’s The Inferno ran second in the Listed Hareeba Stakes (1200m) last year and brings in decent form as he looks to go one better. Two starts back he finished three lengths off Imperatriz in Group 1 company, before peaking on his run slightly over 1400m in Group 3 company at Caulfield. He is a six-time winner at 1200m, and with a breakneck tempo expected, The Inferno will look to absorb the pressure and power over his rivals late.
