Mornington horse racing preview

An eight-race card is set down for judgement on Wednesday afternoon at Mornington. The track has come up a Good 4, the rail is out 4m the entire circuit, and we are set fair for a competitive day of racing from 1pm AEDT onwards.

Best BetRace 3 – Ain’t She Cute (#1) Get the best odds

Charlotte Littlefield and Jason Maskiell will look to build on the efforts of this 3YO filly, who looked to be the winner in the concluding stages of her last start at Cranbourne before getting swamped in the shadows of the winning post. She strikes a pretty thin maiden in regards to her rivals that have already raced. Unless there is an uncovered superstar in those debutants, Ain’t She Cute should get the job done here.

Next BestRace 7 – Kuzco Lad (#2) Get the best odds

Three weeks ago, Kuzco Lad gave nothing else a chance in an all-the-way win. Despite drawing barrier 11 here, the Waterhouse & Bott gelding has the early speed to overcome the wide gate and will look to make this a genuine tempo throughout. Teo Nugent retains the ride as Kuzco Lad aims for his fourth win in five runs this campaign.

Best ValueRace 8 – Brazen Song (#8) Get the best odds

Having chased home the likes of Cordilla and Felicia during her winter campaign, Brazen Song gets to this race second up after finishing midfield at this track back at the start of the month. That was a tough run, as she was forced to do a lot of work early to cross the field and was left vulnerable late despite going around as favourite. From barrier one, Shane Nichols’ 4YO mare draws to do no work this time and will be hard to hold out in the final race of the day.
