The McEvoy stable showcased a noteworthy group of two-year-olds at the Caulfield Heath jump-outs, with trainer Calvin McEvoy expressing optimism about their prospects in upcoming autumn features.

In an interview with Racing.com, McEvoy shared insights on the promising youngsters, stating, “We brought four along, and they’re up and going towards these features in the autumn.”

“I was pretty impressed by Rue De Royale, he’s a horse that ran second in the Golden Gift last start up in Sydney,” McEvoy said, highlighting Rue De Royale’s potential.

“He’s had a little break since then and he’s on a path to head back up to Sydney.

“He’ll run in the (Inglis) Millennium, into the Todman, into the Slipper, so he’s a pretty exciting colt.”

Discussing Blue Stratum, who finished second to stablemate Dublin Down in the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) and later placed fourth in the Inglis Nursery (1000m)

“(He) was really good – he threw the race away on Melbourne Cup Day, he was very good down the straight, but very wayward and ended up not winning the race, but probably should have,” commented McEvoy

“He trialled very sharp– he’s been on the water walker for a couple of weeks.

“He was always going to need a decent hit-out, and he ran a good, quick time.”

The colt is set to return to Caulfield for the Listed Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) on January 26.
