NZ Tips

THE rescheduled Livamol Classic runs this Sunday at Hastings and we have form, free tips and odds for every race on the card.

It has taken a big effort from the Hawke’s Bay Racing team to get this meeting on this weekend and punters get to enjoy the long weekend with some quality racing action.

Sunday’s meeting is flanked by quality racing at Rotorua on Saturday and group racing at Te Rapa on Monday, so it’s going to be a great three-day weekend for New Zealand racing.

The fine weather this week has ensured a good racing surface so sign up to Unibet.com.au and get some of the best odds on Kiwi racing.

Race 1 – Maiden Handicap (1600m)

Outstanding hasn’t quite lived up to its name, but it did go close behind a nice type last start. The Gerald Innes-trained four-year-old finished second behind Adonis on this track and the form out of that race has already stacked up well. It won’t get a better chance to score a maiden win.

Vannoss produced a big finish to run fourth on debut at Woodville and it will appreciate the extra distance. The Lowry/Cullen team return the gelding back to its home track for this run and having finished off well last start as a $24 chance, we doubt it will be at those same odds again.

Race 1 tip: Outstanding to win at Neds.com.au

Race 2 – R65 Handicap (1600m)

Breakfastateight has improved by one position in every start to date and another win could be in store. The daughter of Danroad went to the front at Waverley last start and it gripped on well to score a narrow win. Its form prior was strong and it should be well-supported with punters here.

Asama Blue has always had plenty of potential and this looks a nice target for it. The five-year-old mare has had its fair share of problems, but it the imported runner has been close behind some smart types. Most punters thought it would have escape this grade a long time ago and this looks a great betting opportunity.

Race 2 tip: Asama Blue to win at CrownBet.com.au

Race 3 – R85 Handicap (1600m)

Beefeater was the favourite before this race got canned and it has been installed as the $3.80 favourite again. The five-year-old is fresh up after two trial placings this time in and its form from last campaign where it finished third behind the Australian-performed All Roads was solid. It gets a 1kg claim which should help.

Travimyfriend had a good run in transit last start at Hawera, but it made good use of it. The Rachael Frost-trained gelding scored by a half-length in rating 85 company and it gets another run in this class. It’s an adaptable type which could score consecutive wins.

Race 3 tip: Travimyfriend to win ($6.50) at Unibet.com.au

Race 4 – R65 Handicap (2100m)

Collaborate has won once from six starts, but it has been performing well in some good fields. The Baker/Forsman-trained gelding battled on well for second behind Sheridan last start and that form should hold up well. The son of High Chaparral is going to enjoy stepping up over more ground and it should be well-favoured to win.

Centre Attention doesn’t win often, but it only narrowly lost at Hastings last start as an outsider. The firmer track conditions might not help here, but Madan Singh takes 3kg off its back and it could be a nice place bet option.

Race 4 tip: Collaborate to win at Sportsbet.com.au

Race 5 – R65 Handicap (1200m)

Adonis scored a handy win last start and that was a good form race. The Tony Bambry-trained five-year-old scored at odds of $68 in a big upset, but it travelled three wide throughout the run and still held them all off. That win came on Windsor Park Plate day and that form should hold.

Hundyamonth resumed with a solid placing at Waverley and it will get the aid of a 3kg claimer in the saddle. The Any Suggestion six-year-old has placed in three of its five starts at Hastings and it will only need a touch of luck from out wide to figure in the finish.

Race 5 tip: Hundyamonth to place at Bet365.com

Race 6 – Spring Sprint (1400m)

The Australian-performed Miss Wilson wouldn’t have been helped with the extended break, but it’s a classy sprinter at best. The John Bary-trained local was good enough to win in Australia and it battled on well behind Gingernuts in the Windsor Park Plate last start. That’s strong form for this and the five-year-old speedster loves this track.

Watch This Space has been in stellar for this season, winning back-to-back races. The six-year-old has hit a purple patch of form and that included a win on this track last start. The confidence levels are high with this runner and the extra distance should help it from the wide draw.

Race 6 tip: Miss Wilson to win ($3.80) at Neds.com.au

Race 7 – R85 Handicap (2100m)

Highlad has been in and out of form this campaign, but it possesses plenty of talent. The Baker/Forsman-trained four-year-old finished well down the track on a heavy surface at Te Awamutu last start, but getting back to a firmer surface will help its chances. It scored a good win here two starts back and the $2.50 on offer suggests it has a good winning chance again.

Balham can kick it with the best of them on its day and the $5 is a fair price. The seven-year-old is a two-time winner at this distance and it saves its best racing for Hastings. The son of Don Eduardo was a 3.3-length winner in May, which is good form and the wet tracks haven’t helped its cause. Chance back on firmer ground.

Race 7 tip: Highlad to win ($2.50) at Unibet.com.au

Race 8 – Livamol Classic (2040m)

Gingernuts is the star thoroughbred in this field and although the rescheduling of the Livamol Classic put pay to its Caulfield Cup hopes, at least punters get to see it run in New Zealand again. The Te Akau-raced Derby winner scored a gallant win last start and Australian form is always going to be top notch this time of the year in New Zealand. It’s the class act and the $1.80 won’t last long.

Chance to Dance is a former Australian runner which scored an upset win last start. Now with Te Akau, the eight-year-old was too good for them at Pukekohe last month and it was good enough to run in the Sydney Cup, which automatically makes it a threat here. It’s clearly the second stringer from the stable, but $7 is a fair each way price.

Race 8 tip: Gingernuts to win ($1.80) at Unibet.com.au

Race 9 – R75 Handicap (1400m)

Yearn has looked mightily impressive winning its last two starts and especially its win last start. The four-year-old mare produced a good turn-of-foot to win at Hastings and that followed up a five-length romp at Te Rapa. It’s trending in the right direction and the $6.20 is a value price.

Decades resumed with an easy 1.3-length win at Hastings last start and it’s good enough to win again. The four-year-old has yet to miss a win or placing at this distance and punters are getting good odds again here.

Race 9 tip: Yearn to win ($6.20) at CrownBet.com.au
