Le Romain out of the Stradbroke
Le Romain is the latest high-profile defection from Brisbane’s premier sprint, the Group One Stradbroke Handicap.
A close second to Impending in Saturday’s Group One Kingsford Smith Cup, Le Romain joins Group One winners In Her Time and English as non-runners at Doomben on Saturday week.
Trainer Kris Lees says Le Romain will be given a spell to be prepared for a spring campaign.
His withdrawal leaves last year’s winner Impending and three-year-old filly Champagne Cuddles as the TAB’s $4.60 equal favourites ahead of first acceptances on Wednesday.
