Tuesday racing tips for Kyneton
A nine-race card is set down for judgement on Tuesday afternoon at Kyneton. The track is a Heavy 8 at the time of writing, but it looks like we may get an upgrade into the Soft range due to a forgiving forecast on Monday afternoon. The rail is out 6m from the 1200m mark to the winning post and then true the remainder of the circuit, so being up on speed may be no disadvantage. The first race is set to jump at 12pm AEDT.
Mike Moroney’s 4YO mare was scratched at Echuca on Monday to be saved for this. She has been racing in city class and should take advantage of the drop in grade here. The mare gets the services of Jordan Childs, who will balance her up towards the rear of the field from barrier 10. When asked for an effort, she should have the race fitness to get the job done. Notably, her only career win came on Heavy going, which was at her first run this campaign.

The Maher & Eustace team will have been content with this 3YO filly’s first two career starts, and she looks poised to break her maiden tag here. She had no luck last start at Moe when three wide with no cover the trip, as she looked to peak on her run with 200m to go before having to settle for the consolation prize. The wide barrier looks to be the only query, but she will be up on speed and should have fitness on her side.

Ben Brisbourne and Lewis German team up once again with this 3YO filly, who responded to losing her rider on debut by breaking her maiden tag in convincing fashion at Benalla last time out. That win was on a Soft 7, which she may get here, and with German retaining the ride she rates quite highly. In her maiden win she was well back in the field entering the home straight before finding a gap late and charging to the line, and the tactics may be the same here after drawing out wide.
