Kyneton Horse Racing Betting Preview, 24th November 2020

A nine race card is on the agenda at Kyneton on Tuesday afternoon, where there have been some big fields accepted throughout the meeting. At the time of writing the track has come up a Good 4, but with rain forecasted on Sunday night and throughout Monday we may be punting on a rain affected track come Tuesday afternoon.

The first race is set to jump at 12:40pm AEDT.

Best BetRace 6 – Credenza (#3) $2.50

We’ll be hoping the combination of Anthony Freedman and Lachie Neindorf can steer home our top tip at Kyneton on Tuesday afternoon. The three year old gelding is yet to miss the placings in both of his two career starts, including a runner up performance at Kilmore three weeks ago. He took up the running at Kilmore and dictating terms upfront, before finding one better in the concluding stages of the race. The extra 300 metres looks to only benefit the gelding based off that last effort, and considering there isn’t much early speed in the race so he should get a quiet time up front. Based on that, he should prove hard to run down to get punters over to a popular start in the Kyneton Quaddie.

Next BestRace 7 – Red Cracker (#4) $3.20

Based on the fact we should be racing on rain affected ground on Tuesday at Kyneton, Bob Donat will be like the chances of his 5YO mare. She was backed into favouritism last time out, but was racing three wide with no cover the whole trip, yet kept fighting to the line to go down by under a length. Arguably, if she had a more economical run in transit over this track and distance last time out she would have gone even closer to winning. The field she meets here is no harder than what she met last time, and will take a power of holding out with Matthew Cartwright on board.

Best ValueRace 4 – Sotirio (#10) $23.00 / $6.50

Michelle Payne’s 3YO filly looked to have the race won when cornering in a Dunkeld maiden a fortnight ago, but despite having a three length lead at the turn she faded badly to finish fourth beaten by nearly three and a half lengths. Despite drawing a wide barrier, she has the early speed to overcome the bad draw, and will look to build off her third up effort. Payne has decided to apply the blinkers again, and if she can see out the trip, she looks to be our best value tip for the nine race card at Kyneton.
