Kyneton helps kick off another week of racing in Victoria where an eight race card is set to be run and won on a track rated a Soft 5, with the rail true the entire circuit. Horsebetting.com.au brings you the top odds, best bets and free quaddie numbers for the meeting getting underway at 1pm AEST.

Best Bet: #3 Saint Of Katowice

The ever consistent Maher & Eustace-trained Saint Of Katowice is set to go around as a short priced favourite on Monday at Kyneton. The son of Elzaam finally broke through for a deserved win when first up at Swan Hill on April 16 and the former UK-based galloper looks set to make it back to back wins. With five runner up finishes and two thirds in his career, he is clearly the smartest horse in the race. John Allen retains the ride, which is a strong guide considering he has won two starts back on his market rival and stablemate Justwins. From barrier 5, we expect him to settle midfield and be savaging the line in the second leg of the quaddie.

Best BetRace 6 – Saint Of Katowice (#3) $2.00 with Sportsbet

Next Best: #10 Big Angel

It looks set to be the eighth time lucky for the Chris Waller-trained Big Angel who comes back to Kyneton following two runner up performances over the track and distance. Michael Walker hops on the back of the Zoustar filly for the first time in a career which has seen her run in the top three on four occasions, but is yet to break through for a deserved win. The drought looks set to be broken on Monday, when heading towards the second half of the field from barrier 13, and with a sustained run she should be finishing over the top of her rivals in a race which lacks depth.

Next BestRace 4 – Big Angel (#10) $2.70 with Sportsbet

Best Value: #2 Ceardai

Brett Stanley saddles up the six-year-old gelding Ceardai who drops back to the 1850m following a third placed finish at the Wangaratta 2000m on April 15. The son of Mastercraftsman won impressively at 1800m two runs back at Kerang when getting his own way out in front. From barrier three, he should have no issue getting to the front of this field and use apprentice Celine Gaudray’s 2kg to the best of their advantage. Gaudray is in strong form for an apprentice, riding three winners from her last seven rides and should be giving connections of Ceardai a second win from his last three runs.

Best ValueRace 5 – Ceardai (#2) $6.00 with Sportsbet
