Kingston Town Stakes 2020 betting tips, odds & form

Shared Ambition
Shared Ambition will represent the Chris Waller stable in the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes at Randwick this weekend.

The Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes is the penultimate race on a blockbuster card at Royal Randwick. With all places filled and $5 the field, this is bound to be a race worth watching. A majority of runners coming into this third up, so there shouldn’t be any excuses fitness-wise for many of the key chances. Last year’s winner, Finche, went on to be ultra competitive in the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup last year, and race favourite Shared Ambition may just follow the same pathway this time around.

Best BetShared Ambition Get the best odds

For a galloper who was once declared the best stayer in the country, Shared Ambition has been quite poor this campaign. However, he has been racing over distances that are not exactly in his pedigree. Getting to 2000m can only be a positive, but the wider barrier means he give the leaders a fair start. He did make up plenty of ground in the Chelmsford last start to go down by three lengths. If Chris Waller wants to get him into any of the Cup races down south, he needs to start putting a couple of wins together. He gets 4kgs off his back from his last start and should power down the outside late to keep his Melbourne Cup campaign on track.

Team Hawkes has indicated that this 5YO gelding will be ridden further forward if given the opportunity after his wide barrier draw. Angel Of Truth has returned in fine form this campaign, finishing half a length back in second when resuming in the Spring Preview and then two lengths off the winner last time around in the Chelmsford. He will take plenty of improvement from that run and prove hard to hold out if able to find a handy position early. He’s beaten home race favourite Shared Ambition both starts this campaign.

Best ValueGirl Tuesday Get the best odds

It’s hard to let the Clarry Conners-trained galloper go around without something on her. Girl Tuesday has been known to be a punter’s enemy because she keeps finding herself in trouble throughout the latter stages of a race. She finished just under two lengths to Mugatoo last start when running fifth, and she meets her rivals from that race better at the weights. She had the best last 400m of the race and looks nicely placed here at odds.
