The Kilmore Racing Club is scheduled to host an eight-race card on Tuesday afternoon and Horsebetting’s Victorian form expert presents his best bets, free quaddie picks and odds from Australia’s leading online bookmakers. The track is rated a Good 4, with the rail in the true position throughout, for the meeting commencing at 1:30pm AEDT.

Kilmore Best Bet – Otelo

The Ben Brisbourne-trained Otelo is racing in career best form and we think the three-year-old son of Shalaa can continue that form at Kilmore. He kept chasing when finishing 1.5 lengths off Real Gun at Wangaratta on December 23 and considering he put nearly two lengths on Bon Shadow back in third on that he is more than capable of taking out a race like this. He remains at 1200m, a distance he has only finished out of the top three on one occasion, so we know he will see out a genuinely run six furlongs. Apprentice Hannah Edgley retains the ride and from barrier three will look to use her 3kg to her advantage and have Otelo settled just off the speed. With a nice turn of foot and even luck on the home turn, we anticipate Otelo to be too good for this lot and salute as a clear best bet of the day.

Next Best At Kilmore – Dodgy One

The Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Dodgy One was a tough watch on debut at Terang on December 20 having travelled wide without cover the journey. The three-year-old son of Reliable Man was ridden quietly up until the final 200m, before jockey John Allen asked for an effort. He responded initially, but following the tough run, he was always going to be found wanting late and ran into one better over the concluding stages. He draws barrier 11 again on Tuesday, but with a touch more luck this time round, he looks a good bet in a maiden that lacks depth. With even luck and natural improvement between runs, we expect Dodgy One to breakthrough for a maiden win her at his second start.

Best Value – Manhattan Sting

We will be hoping to round out the day with a bit of value, when the Chris Hyland-trained Manhattan Sting steps out over 2000m. The five-year-old son of Dundeel is coming off a strong performance at Terang on December 20 where he was not beaten too far over 1850m when finishing second. The step up to the 2000m fourth-up from a spell looks to be ideal and with Jarrod Fry retaining the ride, we expect him to be fighting out the finish here. The tricky barrier of barrier 10 should be no issue, as he looks to get back in his races as it is and under a well-timed steer, we expect to see Manhattan Sting make his presence known inside the final furlong.
