What Randwick-Kensington Races
Where Royal Randwick Racecourse – Alison Rd, Randwick NSW 2031
When Wednesday, August 25, 2021
First Race 1:25pm AEST

HorseBetting’s Sydney form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie selections for the seven-race metropolitan meeting at the Randwick-Kensington track this Wednesday. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail will be in the true position for the entire course, and the first race is set to jump at 1:25pm AEST.

Kensington Best Bet: Sunrise Ruby

Mitch Beer and Glen Boss combine in the fifth with quality mare, Sunrise Ruby. The Albury-based four-year-old has won four of her five career starts, including a dominant win in town last time out in a Highway back on July 31st. The Casino Prince mare races very adaptably, winning from in front and coming from near last, so barrier two will give Glen Boss plenty of options. She only rises slightly from 1200m to 1250m which is going to suit her in her bid to win her fifth career start.

Best BetRace 5 – Sunrise Ruby (#2) $5.50 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Kensington: Pippali

Jason Coyle and Tommy Berry combine in the last race of the day with Pippali, who makes her racetrack return. The daughter of Ilovethiscity broke her maiden in her second career start at Kembla Grange and has since placed twice, including a third behind Miravalle and Elizabeel in the Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic at her last start in March. Pippali has trialled twice, winning over 804m on August 3 before being given a soft hitout on August 17 over 805m. Barrier 11 will be a touch awkward, but she has been known to race towards the second half of the field, so she can get over early and race with cover. She has the class to be in the finish here.

Next BestRace 7 – Pippali (#5) $7 with Sportsbet

Kensington Value Bet: Shibli

We really liked the way that Shibli trialled last week on the Warwick Farm synthetic, winning the three-horse affair under a strong hold. The son of Muhaarar has had five career starts and has only won one of those, at Newcastle in February over 2150m, so the 1400m first-up may be too short for him; however, the five-year-old has had two trials leading into this campaign, so he should be forward enough to run a good race. Brock Ryan will claim 2kg, which will be beneficial given he will have to overcome barrier 10. Shibli’s trials have shown us enough.

Best ValueRace 4 – Shibli (#6) $8 with Sportsbet
