Wednesday racing tips for Randwick-Kensington

Seven races will be run and won on the Kensington track at Royal Randwick from 2pm AEDT on Wednesday afternoon. The track is rated a Heavy 8, and the rail is in the true position. Let’s take a look at the latest odds and best bets on offer at Australia’s top online bookmakers.

Best BetRace 5 – Nyami (#4) $2.90 with Sportsbet

Chris Waller and Tommy Berry combine with a horse on the up who’s shooting for a hat-trick of wins. The four-year-old gelding steps up to 1800m for the first time and on to a Heavy track, which should suit given his strong win in soft conditions two starts back. He is out of a Zabeel mare, so the trip should be ideal, and his strong late burst over a mile last start suggested he wanted further still. Barrier nine allows Berry to settle in the back half and charge late. Nyami can be backed with confidence.

Next BestRace 3 – Dream Circle (#5) $3.20 with Sportsbet

David Payne saddles up Dream Circle in the third event and legs up apprentice Louise Day, who comes with a 3kg claim. Day has had just the one ride on the gelding before which saw the pair victorious in maiden grade, so Payne will hope that the booking can reignite the winning spark. Dream Circle was strong last start when third behind Bombasay and Best Stone, and he should improve here up to a mile. He is a multiple wet-track winner and should get every chance from barrier three. This looks winnable.

Best ValueRace 7 – Revitup Rednut (#12) $15 with Sportsbet

Moruya-trained Revitup Rednut gets her chance in town on a suitable bog track. Having placed second three times from five goes on a heavy track, including her latest effort at Canberra in a very narrow defeat, she should be right in this at big odds. She has won twice on soft going at her home track and has measured up in Highway races, so she should be competitive here. Ceejay Graham utilised her 3kg claim to get down to 51.5kg, which will be a big plus, and they are likely to have a great run in transit from barrier five.
