The track is rated a Good 4 at the time of writing, the rail is in the true position for the entire course, and the first race of the day is scheduled to jump at 12:35pm local time.
Best Bet: Raison D’etre
James Cummings’ three-year-old filly Raison D’etre has always shown ability, but she has only managed to win the one race from nine starts. That win did come against a field that included Elizabeel, who has placed in a Group 1, but clearly the two fillies have gone in different directions. After a first-up fifth at Hawkesbury three weeks ago, the daughter of Exceed And Excel can improve in what is an easier race at Class 1 level. Rachel King will ride the filly from barrier three, which should have Raison D’etre positioned close to the speed as she looks to bring up her second win.
Race 5 – Raison D’etre (#4)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1370098_05]
Next Best: Madam Charm
Madam Charm was a gritty on-pace winner at Hawkesbury last start, and now third-up we get a nice price to find out if she can do it again. The three-year-old filly by Charm Spirit has had just three starts for one win and one placing, with that runner-up effort coming at the hands of subsequent winner Nikau at this track when first-up. That form looks pretty handy for this Maher & Eustace runner, who steps out to the mile third-up. Drawn barrier nine under Jason Collett, the filly will go forward, make the running and prove hard to run down again.
Race 7 – Madam Charm (#9)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1370098_07]
Best Value: Celtic Love
Marc Conners saddles up his consistent seven-year-old mare Celtic Love. The daughter of Dylan Thomas has had 50 starts, winning eight of those, including two wins here at Kembla Grange. After a first-up second to the talented Mensa Missile, we expect plenty of improvement second-up and back on to a dry track at 1400m again. Drawn in barrier five, Celtic Love is likely to settle in the first half a dozen under her regular rider, Ellen Hennessy, who claims an advantageous 3kg. With a nice run in transit, Celtic Love can go one better than her first-up effort.
Race 6 – Celtic Love (#2)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1370098_06]
