Jockeys sidelined by injuries in falls

Winona Costin will spend several weeks on the sidelines with two broken wrists suffered in a fall in the Wellington Boot.

Costin was one of two jockeys to come down in Sunday’s race with Brock Ryan sustaining a shoulder injury.

Costin only returned to riding on Friday after a long lay-off with concussion issues.

At Sunday’s Corowa meeting, Jake Duffy suffered a suspected broken elbow and misses the ride in Monday’s Adelaide Cup on Honey Steel’s Gold.

Apprentice Ben Allen has picked up the ride on the Lindsay Park stayer in the Group Two race.
