The Ipswich Turf Club will play host to nine races on Monday on what will be a Soft 5 track at best. The rail has been moved out nine metres for the entire circumference, so expect to see leaders benefit. Horsebetting.com.au brings you their best bets, value picks and suggested Quaddie for the meeting which will kick off at 11:55amAEST.
Best Bet – #1 Sherwood Prince
Two-year-old gelding Sherwood Prince has been knocking on the door with two placings this campaign and he gets his chance here. The son of Better Than Ready has won two of eight and has placed another four times from a total of eight starts. Drawn barrier one under 2kg claiming apprentice Sheriden Tomlinson, he will go straight to the front and be too speedy over the 800m trip. He has shown plenty of speed in his first eight starts, so the 800m journey should be to his liking.

Next Best – #4 Ready To Chase
Desleigh Forster and Mark Du Plessis combine in the fourth with three-year-old gelding Ready To Chase. Another son of Better Than Ready, this lightly raced galloper is yet to break through in seven starts, but has been runner up on three occasions. He was a beaten favourite at Gatton first-up over 1100m, so with added fitness he should be ready to fire second-up at the same trip. From barrier six, Du Plessis should find the lead and be able to pinch it in what is a pretty thin three-year-old maiden.
Race 4 – Ready To Chase (#4)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1366342_04]
Best Value – #8 Pure Purgatory
We haven’t seen Nat McCall’s mare at the track since November, but she looked impressive in just three Queensland starts. Formerly trained by Matt Laurie in Victoria, this four-year-old mare has placed six times from just seven starts but is yet to breakthrough. By Oratorio, she has shown enough gate speed to be right on the bunny in this first-up task over 1200m under Tiff Brooker from gate four. While she might be suited on bigger tracks like the Sunshine Coast, she could just be in the best part of the track on Monday to go all the way.
