Thursday racing tips for Ipswich

Eight races will be run and won at Ipswich from 1:17pm AEST on Thursday afternoon. The track is rated a Heavy 9, while the rail will be in the +6m position. Let’s take a look at the latest odds and best bets on offer at Australia’s leading online bookmakers.

Best BetRace 5 – Brook Hill (#2) Get the best odds

Bryan and Daniel Guy combine with in-form hoop Michael Rodd in the fifth with smart gelding Brook Hill. The lightly raced son of Hinchinbrook is a winner of two races from just the six starts at Newcastle and Wyong. After leaving the Bjorn Baker yard and moving north, he placed second behind Dynamic Thinker at the Gold Coast in his Queensland debut. Both wins have come on rain-affected tracks, so he should handle the heavy conditions underfoot. He can make it his third career win and his first in Queensland.

Next BestRace 1 – Ain’t She Lovely (#1) Get the best odds

Tipping two-year-olds isn’t our normal go-to plan, especially on a Heavy 9 track, but the form around Ain’t She Lovely and her breeding makes her hard to ignore. A maiden winner at this track a month ago, the runner-up who she beat by nearly two lengths has since franked the form with a convincing win. By Worthy Cause, a stallion who never missed the places on wet going, we imagine that she should handle the conditions. Marnu Potgieter claims 3kg, which takes the filly from top weight in the race to the bottom weight in the field of five. She’ll get the run of the race from gate four and should prove too good.

Best ValueRace 7 – So You Beauty (#1) Get the best odds

So You Beauty from the Bevan Laming stable loves running around in the mud, winning twice and placing four times from nine starts on soft or heavy tracks. Drawn kindly in barrier four under Jaden Lloyd, he’ll go forward and take some serious catching, especially with the rail out 6m. She is yet to win in Queensland in four starts since coming up from Victoria, but she has placed twice and also finished fourth in her most recent outing. With miles in her legs and back to 1350m on a heavy track, she should run them into the ground.
