Ipswich horse racing preview
Ipswich will host eight races on Wednesday afternoon for midweek metropolitan racing in Queensland. The track is currently in the Soft 5 range, but we expect an upgrade by the time the first race jumps at 1:24pm local time. The rail is out +9m for the entire circumference.
David Vandyke will leg up Ryan Maloney in the fourth on promising three-year-old gelding Good Chat. Forgive his debut run two campaigns ago when 18L lengths off Rothfire while battling a few issues. Last prep he was brilliant, winning two from three and placing on the other occasion in a forgive run. He won his most recent start at this track and distance, and he should get a nice enough run from the wide alley. There’s some genuine non-winners here against a budding star.

Formerly with Lindsay Park, this mare by So You Think brings north some seriously good Victorian form. She’s had plenty of ability since day one and supported those claims when winning back-to-back races at Sandown last campaign. Vandyke and Maloney have a great partnership and should get this mare in a nice spot from barrier five under light riding. This is a huge class drop for a talented mare.

Tom Button saddles up this classy filly in a weak race. If she brings her best, she wins this well. She was a narrow runner-up to I Am Swerving at Doomben last start after bolting in at Rockhampton the start prior. She drops 1kg from her last run and benefits from the 3kg claim of apprentice Kate Southam. From barrier two, she will box seat and be too good.
