Ipswich horse betting tips – March 4, 2021
Seven races will be run and won at Ipswich Turf Club on Thursday afternoon from 1:45pm local time. The track is rated a Good 4, while the rail is out +3m for the entire circumference of the course. Here are some of the best bets on offer at Australia’s top online bookmakers.
Best Bet: Kaarchi
Kaarchi joins the Tony Gollan stable from Patrick Payne in Victoria, and she brings with her good enough form to measure up in this Class 2 handicap. The four-year-old mare by Shooting To Win has won just the two races from nine career starts, doing them both in style early in her career, but has just dropped off a touch in her last campaign or two. A change of scenery and a slight drop in grade should see her competitive, and she gets the in-form Gollan and Rodd combo. She trialled nicely at Doomben last month and has drawn beautifully in barrier four to be right in this.

Next Best: Purple Diamond
We were with Purple Diamond last time out, and while she didn’t land the prize, she put in a good enough showing to have us give the three-year-old filly another chance, especially now that she stretches out to the 1350m. She chased moderately behind Hey Big Splenda in a strong maiden first up and then finished 1.4 lengths off them at this track over 1200m last time out. The added 150m and better gate in six of 15 should see her within striking distance. This is her chance to break through for Stuart Kendrick.
Race 3 – Purple Diamond (#15)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1362791_03]
Best Value: Heaven Amore
Kelly Schweida and James Orman combine in the penultimate with Heaven Amore. The four-year-old daughter of Savabeel won her Australian debut by 0.1 of a length at Doomben over 1350m and has since been back to the trials, winning that by half a length. The formerly New Zealand-trained mare stays at the 1350m journey on Thursday but should find this more of a staying test with quite a bit of speed in it. Drawn well in barrier six, she is likely to get back beyond midfield and do her best work late. She is looking to stay undefeated in Australia and has fitness on her side now second up.
Race 6 – Heaven Amore (#5)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1362791_06]
