After donkey licking them in first gear at his first run this campaign, the All Too Hard gelding just found the 1350m a touch too far last start when leading everywhere bar the post to finish third beaten under a length. Three weeks between runs, back to 1200m and down in class should do him the world of good, as they look to make it win two at start four. Maloney can either dictate or box seat from barrier three and take a serious amount of beating and justify the short price. He looks Saturday class and should be winning this.

It could be a day to follow trainer and jockey partnerships, and we think the Gollan and Nothdurft team can get the job done in the final race. Last start winner, Miss Too Fly looks well placed in this 1200m Class 2 after winning well in Benchmark 60 grade at this track last time out over 1100m. She should be wound up and very fit here and can overcome the wide gate by settling midfield behind what looks to be a “lickety split” tempo. Nothdurft has two wins and two placings from five rides on the Better Than Ready mare and can be winning again on her here.

Kacy Fogden’s three-year-old gelding, Edification returns after a six month spell and looks over the odds in this. Fogden has elected to run with a number of gear changes here; removing the blinkers and synthetic hoof filler, and most importantly; the ultimate gear change – gelded. After three quiet trials, the son of More Than Ready can be wound up and ready to win first up. They’ll settle midfield with cover from the wide alley and be flashing late. His form reads fairly well to date, with just the three runs, including a placing behind the talented Hancora Field. His last run before his spell can be ignored with him not going an inch on the Heavy 8 track. On a drier track, he can be surprising here.
