A nine-race card is scheduled for Ipswich Turf Club on Friday afternoon, and HorseBetting brings you the best bets, top odds and free quaddie selections for the meeting. The track is rated a Good 4 with the rail out 6m for the entire circuit, and racing is set to get underway at 11:37am AEST.
Ipswich Best Bet: Trip The Light
Our best bet on the Ipswich card comes up when the Steven O’Dea & Matthew Hoysted-trained Trip The Light returns to the Ipswich 800m looking for three wins in succession. The four-year-old Sebring mare sets the turf alight with her early speed and will make this a genuinely run affair. From barrier eight, expect Baylee Nothdurft to look for the rail and dictate terms. The final 50m will be a nervous watch for backers, but Trip The Light should have enough of a lead to hold on for her third consecutive win.
Race 4 – Trip The Light (#1)Next Best at Ipswich: Battle Through
Bradley Smith sends his four-year-old Battle Through back to a track where he was beaten under a length when finishing third on July 30 over 1200m. The son of Whittington will step up to the 1350m, a distance where he has a win and a minor placing from two starts. Jake Molloy’s 3kg claim gets them in with just 56kg, and from barrier one they should get every favour in the run. If Battle Through gets his own way out in front as expected, he should be too good for this field.
