Ipswich Turf Club plays host to eight races on Wednesday afternoon. The track is a Good 4, the rail is in the true position, and the first race is set to jump at 1:34pm local time. Let’s take a look at the best bets on offer at Australia’s top betting sites.
Best Bet: Marleedoone
Marleedoone finds the right race on Wednesday in the 1666m 3YO Maiden. The Falvelon filly has run second in her last two starts behind The Cullinan and Harlequin Field, who boasts some good form. Out to the mile for the first time will suit her greatly, and she should be able to settle in a forward enough position from gate six. Steph Thornton back on board is a big tick too.
Norm’s Choice was a brilliant winner over the 1100m at this track a fortnight ago in her first-up run. After finding the front early, the four-year-old mare scooted clear to make it a four-length victory on the line. Justin Stanley stays aboard, and barrier three should allow them to settle in the first two or three in this 1200m contest. Her second-up form leaves a bit to be desired, but this is only her first full campaign with the Tom Button stable. She should take some running down again.
Uzerli was beaten only a length in her first run back to the races in eight months over the 800m course a fortnight ago. They just went a touch too quick for her there, so the rise to 1100m and less speed on paper should put her right in this. Drawn out in gate eight, she will settle in the first few and should finish strongly under Sheridan Tomlinson and her 2kg claim. This is her chance to breakthrough.
