Hawkesbury Best Bet – Oh Golly Gosh
Oh Golly Gosh was an eyecatcher when finishing second behind Crystal Waters on September 23 over the Hawkesbury 1300m and we anticipate the step up to 1400m will suit her perfectly. With Lady Shenanigans expected to set a genuine tempo, the race looks to be set up perfectly for a backmarker to run on and blouse the frontrunners. Jason Collett sticks on board the four-year-old Artie Schiller mare which is a bonus and from barrier two will most likely have her settled in the moving line, and when asked for an effort, we expect Oh Golly Gosh to be too hard to hold out.
Next Best Bet at Hawkesbury – Budhwar
If you were on Budhwar in the Midway Handicap at Rosehill on September 25, the run in transit was not pretty viewing. Having travelled sweetly behind the leader, the son of Wandjina never saw clear air until it was too late, leaving plenty left to be desired. Hugh Bowman takes the steer on Sunday and from barrier five, we expect Hughie to take up the running, dictate terms with a nice steer and ultimately prove too hard to run down. In a race bereft of early speed, he looks perfectly placed to make it a third win in four starts and appreciate the drop back into BM68 class.
