Hawkesbury tips & full form for Tuesday, February 13

HAWKESBURY is hosting racing this Tuesday as the Sydney suburb puts on eight races.

We’ve identified the runners we believe will be getting into the cash so let’s take a look at what we’re dealing with.

Race 1 – Maiden (1600m)

Kathmandu has not finished beyond a length and a half of the winner on both occasions it has confronted the starter and in both races it has made great progress. The blinkers are applied for the first time, which is a huge benefit.

Race 1 tip: Kathmandu to win ($2.15 at Sportsbet)

Race 2 – Class 1 Handicap (1600m)

Wedgie confronts the starter for the third time looking to back up a brilliant maiden victory at Kembla at the end of January. In a smaller field the horse should be able to find the front with ease and take this one out from go to whoa.

Race 2 tip: Wedgie to win ($2.45 at Topbetta)

Race 3 – Maiden Handicap (1100m)

It looms as Squaw Peak’s time to shine. The horse has not missed a placing this preparation over three runs, and has made great headway over that time frame. Squaw Peak looms as the classiest runner in this field.

Race 3 tip: Squaw Peak to win ($1.80 at Ladbrokes)

Race 4 – Class 4 Sprint (1100m)

We’re backing Never Out in this contest. The horse is third-up – where it has placed previously – and has a win and was only two parts of a length away from getting another this preparation. The Kim Waugh will be right on the mix once again in its Hawkesbury debut.

Race 4 tip: Never Out to win ($2.20 at William Hill)

Race 5 – Maiden Handicap (1300m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181451_05]

Godolphin runner Nai’a did not get a lot of luck upon resumption on January 28 and the Lonhro filly still managed to find a placing. We think the horse will be fitter following that first-up run and presents as a winning chance for James Cummings.

Race 5 tip: Nai’a to win ($2.90 at Neds)

Race 6 – Maiden Plate (1100m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181451_06]

The blinkers are applied to Eschara on Tuesday and we think it will make all the difference going into this event. The filly missed out on breaking through for its first-ever win by a lip at Hawkesbury on January 24 and we believe it will win at the fourth time of asking.

Race 6 tip: Eschara to win ($1.80 at William Hill)

Race 7 – Class 1 Handicap (1100m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181451_07]

Big Legged Woman was a great winner on debut by over two lengths at Cessnock before it finished third in its next start at Wyong at this grading. The three-year-old jumps from a great gate and we think it is good enough to win a second race at the third attempt.

Race 7 tip: Big Legged Woman to win ($12 at Crownbet)

Race 8 – Benchmark 71 (1400m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181451_08]

The Kim Waugh-trained Manhattan Mist is a progressive type that should perform well again. Across its four career starts the horse has not missed the top-two and its resuming run was brilliant. We’re backing it in to finish off the Hawkesbury card.

Race 8 tip: Manhattan Mist to win ($2.50 at Sportsbet)
