Hawkesbury betting tips 15/3

What Hawkesbury Races
Where Hawkesbury Race Club – 1 Racecourse Road, Clarendon NSW
When Tuesday, March 15, 2022
First Race Race: 1:15pm AEDT

Racing heads to Hawkesbury on Tuesday for eight provincial races, so HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst has run his eye over the card and brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers. After recent flooding in the Hawkesbury region, the track is listed as a Heavy 8, while the rail is out just 1m from the 400m to the winning post and then true for the remainder of the course. Racing at Hawkesbury on March 15 is set to begin at 1:15pm AEDT.

Best Bet – Race 4 #3 Stay Wealthy $4

In race four, Gary Moore and Keagan Latham combine with talented galloper Stay Wealthy. The four-year-old son of Redoute’s Choice has won just the one race from seven career starts, but he has been in the minor money on four other occasions. The gelding was heavily backed first-up at Wyong on February 15, and while he didn’t finish in the placings, he did close off very strongly to run fourth. That run was over 1350m, so it should have tightened him right up ahead of this 1400m event. He has drawn ideally in barrier one, so he should be in a prominent spot and be very hard to beat second-up. Stay Wealthy is also living up to his name, paying up to $4.15 with Australian horse betting sites.

Next Best – Race 7 #1 Galifianakis $5

In the penultimate race, Chris Waller saddles up two-start maiden galloper Galifianakis in an 1800m Maiden Plate. The son of Dandy Man has been in the placings in his two career starts, both of which have been at Newcastle. Waller now steps the four-year-old out to 1800m which is going to suit him right down to the ground, while Lee Magorrian returns to the saddle after riding him on debut. This gelding will have to overcome the top weight and barrier 15, but based on his two runs, those negatives simply give us a better price in our view. He looks a progressive stayer, and he should be able to breakthrough on Tuesday. For those punters who enjoy an exotics bet, have a quinella with Facetime ($23) as she finished off her race brilliantly on a Heavy 8 track last time out and has form around Fangirl, so the 1800m should be up her alley too.

Best Value – Race 8 #2 Maranoa $6

In the final race of the day, Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott saddle up Maranoa in a Benchmark 68 over 1300m. The four-year-old gelding will be having his first run since finishing 14th in last year’s Group 1 Queensland Derby (2400m), so he could find the 1300m a touch short, however the stable have given this galloper two trials over 743m and 1080m respectively to add some freshness to his legs. The son of Snitzel won on debut over 1400m and he won the Wagga Guineas over 1600m at his third start, so the 1300m may not be too much of a concern, despite being bred to stay out of Victorian Oaks-winning mare Faint Perfume. From barrier four, Regan Bayliss will take him forward and he should prove hard to run down.
