Hawkesbury racing tips and form, Wednesday November 15
THE Melbourne Cup carnival is over for another year, but the racing doesn’t stop and we have form, odds and free tips for Hawkesbury this Wednesday.
The midweek card features seven quality betting races and there are some nice up-and-coming stars in the line up.

Race 1 – BM66 Handicap (1800m)
Chris Waller lines up Aonair, which is dropping back from rating 70 grade last start. The filly by Fastnet Rock was a good winner at Warwick Farm to break maiden grades in September and it has since run in stakes company at Randwick. She finished off well behind Sky Boy last start and that should be a good form guide for this run.
Tinkermosa clearly enjoyed the longer distances last start when winning over the mile. The John Sargent-trained three-year-old stepped up to the 1600m distance last start when winning by 1.5 lengths and that was a good sign of things to come. The daughter of Alamosa will receive a good trip in transit from barrier one and it might be ridden forward to give them something to chase.

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1300m)
Tiki Bar is a talented three-year-old which finished second behind Lipizzan on debut before running second again at Canterbury. That narrow defeat will hold the filly in good stead for the rest of the season and we’re expecting punters to be confident in the betting again. The rise to 1300m is ideal and James Cummings should have her ready to fire at midweek level.
Sazavee is a well-bred filly which finished last in two early trials before running second last time out. The daughter of Fastnet Rock x. Rahveel is expected to be better over longer distances, but the Strawberry Hill Stud-raced runner will capture plenty of attention in the betting. Follow any market leads.

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1300m)
Dream I Can has placed in six from 11 starts and a win should come soon. The Ron Quinton-trained four-year-old has been close on many an occasion and those runs have been decent some nice types. This looks like one of the easier maiden races on the card and punters should expect yet another tidy effort.
Sparkly Star hasn’t been too far away in three runs to date. The Gerald Ryan-trained colt rises in distance after finding the sprinting trips slightly too tough. The son of Star Witness clearly has the ability to break maiden status at this level and getting the 2kg claimer in the saddle is going to help.

Race 4 – BM76 Dash (1000m)
Eleazar was an impressive winner last start at Hawkesbury as the second favourite. The Hawkes-trained gelding was second billing in the market behind Oleksandra, but the son of I Am Invincible put over 2.8 lengths on its rivals. Having experience on this track is going to suit and he gets in perfectly on the weights at 53kg. Monitor betting moves for this runner.
Envy of All has yet to finish outside of the placings from six starts and its form lines read extremely well for this. The Kris Lees-trained three-year-old finished only a nose behind Viridine at Rosehill last season before defeating the highly-talented Gaulois by 2.3 lengths at Canterbury. Dropping down to 54kg from the inside draw is going to make him awfully tough to run down.

Race 5 – BM66 Handicap (1100m)
The Hipster couldn’t have been more impressive when winning here on debut before being sent for a spell. The Tim Martin-trained four-year-old scored by 2.8 lengths in December last year and connections have been patient with the son of Rothesay. Its breeding doesn’t suggest that he’s going to be special, but it certainly adds some intrigue to an even race.
Lisdoonvarna is a former New Zealand runner which finished fourth at Ruakaka, but has since coming to Australia and won impressively. The Turner/Poletti-trained filly scored an easy win at Nowra last start by 2.5 lengths and it looks to have plenty of raw ability. Watch the betting movements with interest.

Race 6 – BM72 Handicap (1300m)
Ladder should be respected after showing good ability in two starts to date. The Jean Dubois-trained four-year-old was a 1.3-length winner on debut before only narrowly suffering defeat last start in February. It would have enjoyed having the winter off and dropping to 54kg will help its chances. Apprentice jockey Andrew Adkins has been riding well on consider.
San Pablo mixes its form, but that inconsistency makes it a dangerous proposition. The Waterhouse/Bott-trained four-year-old is bred to be good and it scored consecutive wins earlier this year before running 14th behind Interlocuter at Scone. It has run a good race at Hawkesbury in the past and we’re expecting nice odds for this runner.

Race 7 – BM65 Handicap (2000m)
Raise an Army scored a long overdue maiden win last start and it might kick on with it now. The Waller-trained four-year-old had placed in nine of its 14 previous starts, but getting the win at Gosford should have the confidence levels up now. He can handle all different track conditions and he represents good each way value.
Aurora Rose is another winner of only one race, but it drops right down in weight after running with 59kg last start. The four-year-old mare finished second at Hawkesbury last month before running third behind Spinning Gold last start. That form should hold up well at this level and punters should expect another even effort.
