Hawkesbury hosts seven races on Sunday afternoon. The track is rated a good 4, and the rail is in the true position to make for perfect racing conditions. Race 1 jumps at 1:55pm.
Kris Lees and Aaron Bullock combine in the opening race of the day with Triple Ace who is shooting for three straight. The three-year-old son of Helmet has won his last two stylishly over the 900m journey at Newcastle, so there’s no reason why he can’t do it here at Hawkesbury. Drawn gate 2, he’ll lead and win.

The former South Australian, Zouly, put in a great effort in her New South Wales debut when third at Wyong. The filly got back and ran on strongly, which suggested that next start, up in trip and onto a bigger track should suit, which she gets here. Rachel King retains the ride which is a big plus given how well she is riding of late. Barrier 7 should see her midfield with cover, saving her for one last bid late.

We were a bit surprised to see Jungle Book open at such a big price here, given the winning form he was in last campaign. Clare Cunningham’s five-year-old gelding often races well when fresh, and finds a suitable race here with plenty of speed engaged. Jason Collett will take the ride from barrier 10, which will see him the second half of the field. While Wagga and Wellington form isn’t quite the same standard as these city provincial tracks, winning form is good form, and if he can continue that here, he’ll be hard to beat.
