Eight provincial races will be run and won at Hawkesbury on Thursday afternoon from 12:15pm AEST. The track is rated a Soft 5, while the rail is out 3m from the 1100m to the 450m and true for the remainder. HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets and top quaddie numbers for the meeting.
Best Bet: Miracle Street
The Hawkes-trained Miracle Street lines up in her fourth career start on Thursday and finds herself in yet another winnable race. The four-year-old mare has recorded a win and two second placings thus far, finishing on the heels of Geist on debut and then again second at this track last start over 1100m. The daughter of I Am Invincible drops back to 1000m here and should be able to find the front from barrier two. Andrew Adkins will do the steering, and with only 57.5kg they should prove hard to catch around Hawkesbury in this Class 1.
Race 8 – Miracle Street (#3)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1369795_08]
Next Best: My Snow Queen
John Sargent and Regan Bayliss combine in the second with two-year-old filly My Snow Queen. The daughter of Star Turn has had just the one career start, which saw her on the heels of the placegetters including the handy pair of Billiondollarbaby and Shihonka. She does have to face the older horses on Thursday, but she gets plenty of weight relief with 55kg and is drawn well in barrier two to play a stalking role. Bayliss will have his first sit on the filly, and it should be plain and simple instructions from the great barrier. She can win at start two.
Race 2 – My Snow Queen (#8)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1369795_02]
Best Value: Kahuka
Chris Waller’s three-year-old gelding Kahuka placed third in his first two career starts behind handy gallopers Maurice’s Medad and Yangtze Rapids, before being eased out of the race by Tim Clark at this track and trip on May 4th after not feeling right in his action. The steward’s report says he was slow to recover, so we are happy to put a pen through that run. He has had two weeks between runs and stays at the 1800m, which should suit, and he has drawn perfectly in barrier five with Josh Parr on board. The Japanese-bred son of Lord Kanaloa will appreciate a steady tempo, as he should be able to settle just off the pace before finishing off strongly.
Race 6 – Kahuka (#4)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1369795_06]
