Hartnell confirmed for Melbourne Cup start

Godolphin star Hartnell will be a starter in the Melbourne Cup with owner Sheikh Mohammed giving the go-ahead for him to run.

The gelding will carry top weight of 57.5kg in Tuesday’s famous 3200m-handicap with Damian Lane to ride.

Hartnell will be running in his third Melbourne Cup after finishing 15th in 2015 and third last year as favourite.
