Racing heads to Hamilton Racing Club on Tuesday for a nine-race card that kicks off at 11:40pm AEST. The first five races will take place over the sticks, before the quaddie legs are run and won on the flat. Best Bet: American In Paris
In the final jumps event on the Hamilton card, the Symon Wilde-trained American In Paris looks the clear best bet of the day. At the Warrnambool May Racing Carnival the son of Americain was a beaten favourite when third in a BM120, and the start prior he was the best of the beaten brigade behind the smart Valac. With that strong form and getting back onto heavy going, he looks the one to beat as long as he successfully navigates the jumps around Hamilton.
Next Best: Ginny Ann
We were with the Symon-Wilde trained Ginny Ann at the abandoned Stawell meeting last week, so it seems hard to ignore her chances on Tuesday. She was strong upon resumption here on April 11 when second to Brobak and followed up with a dominant win over 1200m at Warracknabeal four weeks later. The four-year-old mare comes back to Hamilton in a bid to string consecutive victories together, and if she brings the form of her first two runs this campaign, she will be simply too good for these.
Best Value: Queen Zyrah
We will be hoping it is a Symon Wilde race-to-race double and a training treble as he saddles up Queen Zyrah in the final race on the card. The Written Tycoon filly is coming off a strong maiden victory at Casterton on May 16 and will look to maintain that momentum as she steps up to BM58 grade. She settled close to the speed on that day, and we expect her to do something similar on Tuesday from barrier four. Having already finished second on a rain-affected track at Hamilton earlier in her career, she looks well placed to go one better here.
