HorseBetting’s Victorian racing analyst has run his eye over the eight-race meeting at Hamilton to be run on Tuesday afternoon and has come up with his best bets and free quaddie numbers with odds from Australia’s leading online bookmakers. The track is rated a Soft 5, the rail is set in the true position, and racing is set to commence at 1:30pm AEDT.

Hamilton Best Bet – Champs D’or

In the third leg of the quaddie, we anticipate the Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained Champs D’or will be hard to hold out up against the odds-on pop, Ornamental Lady. Having just missed on the Ballarat synthetic on August 31, the four-year-old Deep Field mare has been given a seven-week freshen up and looks well placed to bring up a second career win here. With both the favourite and Champs D’or tipped to be up on speed, we expect the latter runner’s race fitness will be the difference. If she can handle the Soft going, her rivals will find it hard to get past her over 1000m.

Next Best at Hamilton – Champagne Witness

On the back of three runner-up performances, the Matthew Williams-trained Champagne Witness may never get a better chance to break his maiden than here at start nine. From barrier two, Jarrod Fry will look to give the Star Witness mare the run of the race and settle just off the leader’s heels. She has four minor placings from five starts on rain-affected going, so we know she can handle the track if the ground gets worse than a Soft 5. She has race fitness over her main market rivals, and if Fry can find a gap in the home straight, we expect Champagne Witness will bring up a deserved maiden victory.

Next BestRace 3 – Champagne Witness (#5) $3.60 with Sportsbet

Best Value at Hamilton – Sunday Night Tea

The Clint Marshall-trained Sunday Night Tea broke through for a win at the Hamilton 1400m on October 9 and returns to the track and distance in search of consecutive victories. This BM58 does not look to be the deepest, and if the seven-year-old son of Denman shows a similar turn of foot here, he should prove too hard to hold out. From barrier seven with Neil Farley on board, look for him to settle midfield in the moving line and get a nice cart into the race. With even luck, he will be set-up to pounce on his rivals again and bring up back-to-back wins for the first time in his 50-start career.

Best ValueRace 6 – Sunday Night Tea (#9) $13 with Sportsbet
