Gunnedah Cup Day Betting Preview

Eight races will be run and won at Gunnedah on Sunday for the club’s Cup Day program. The track is a Good 4 and the rail is in the true position. Horsebetting.com.au brings you our best bets and quaddie numbers for the meeting which jumps at 12:15pm.

Gunnedah Cup Best Bet : Unbiased

Glenn Morgan saddles up his evergreen galloper, Unbiased, in the Gunnedah Cup. The eight-year-old has been racing well albeit without luck in Brisbane and now drops in grade to a race that he has won three years ago. Drawn the inside, Unbiased should get a lovely run under 4kg claiming apprentice, Jackson Searle. We are happy to be on at the each-way price.

Best BetRace 7 – Unbiased (#2) $8.00 with Sportsbet

Best Bet Of The Day : Charvet

Paul Messara and Grant Buckley combine in the fifth with last start winner, Charvet in a Benchmark 58 over 1200m. The daughter of Zoustar made a swooping run at Scone on May 14th, only arrived in the nick of time over 1100m, so the rise to 1200m should suit this four-year-old mare. With even luck in running from barrier two, she can go back-to-back.

Best BetRace 5 – Charvet (#2) $2.40 with Sportsbet

Next Best Bet : Anselmo

Brett Cavanough’s three-year-old gelding, Anselmo, looks ready to breakthrough at start number five, after placing in three races to date. The son of Real Saga tried to burn the candle at both ends last time out at Scone but could not quite hang on over the 1300m journey. Back to 1250m will suit, and given he is the likely speed influence in the race, he can dictate terms to suit and be winning.

Next Best BetRace 2 – Anselmo (#1) $2.70 with Sportsbet
