A nine-race card has been assembled at Grafton in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales on Friday afternoon, and it is a tricky little one to wrap our heads around. The first race will jump at 11:55am on a Good 3 surface, and the rail is out 3m for the entire circumference of the course. Our NSW racing experts have done the form and found three solid bets and a quaddie for the afternoon.
Best Bet: See It Thru
Stephen Lee and Yvette Lewis combine in the penultimate race with See It Thru, a six-year-old gelding who comes into this race fresh off two trials. The son of All Too Hard has won five of his 17 career starts, with four of them coming over this trip (1181m). Drawn in barrier nine under 55kg, he shouldn’t be too far away in the run. He has won fresh before and should be forward enough to go on with the job.
Race 8 – See It Thru (#5)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1368165_08]
Next Best: Hypertension
Brett Dodson has a decent runner in Hypertension despite the three-year-old having never won a race. By Love Conquers All, the three-year-old has placed in six of his 12 starts and looks ready to win after being runner-up in his last two. Drawn well in barrier five under Matthew Bennett, he should be able to find the front and be too fast over the 1410m. This is his last chance for punters.
Race 2 – Hypertension (#4)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1368165_02]
Best Value: Golden Eighty
Golden Eighty could come out and bolt in on Friday, or he could simply be no good. After winning on debut at Doomben, he struggled in his next two – albeit up in grade – behind Alpine Edge and Queen Of Wizzardry. The son of No Nay Never has been gelded and has blinkers coming off for the first time in his three-start career, which could be the key. Trained by the astute Bryan & Daniel Guy, the two-year-old could be here for an easy kill, but he is drawn wide in 14 and has to carry the 60.5kg. Hopefully he can return to the winner’s circle.
Race 4 – Golden Eighty (#1)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1368165_04]
