First Race 1pm AEDT

HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for the eight-race meeting at Gosford on Tuesday, with odds from Australia’s top betting sites. The track is rated a Good 4, while the rail is out 3m from the 1100m to the wining post and then true throughout the remainder of the course. The first race of the afternoon is set to jump at 1pm AEDT.

Gosford Best Bet – Ka Bling

In the final race of the afternoon, Tommy Berry partners the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Ka Bling after the three-year-old was scratched from a winnable race last week. The son of Capitalist has had three career starts for a win, a second and a third, which include placings behind Kallos and Sur La Mer. That form reads very well for this Benchmark 64 over 1200m. Drawn wide in barrier 12, Berry will look for cover in the first half of the field and Ka Bling should prove too good. The $2.60 could look very tasty by the time of the last race of the day.

Best betRace 8 – Ka Bling (#8) $2.60 with Sportsbet

Next Best Bet – Dark Energy

James Cummings saddles up his three-year-old son of Exosphere in the second leg of the quaddie, with Dark Energy looking to go back-to-back. It did take this gelding eight starts to be first past the post, but he did it in style at Kembla Grange on a Heavy 8 over 1600m, so he should relish being at that trip again. Jason Collett takes over from Koby Jennings, which can only be seen as a positive, especially given the pair have drawn the inside alley. We are hoping Dark Energy can land in the box seat and get clear running in the straight. He has upside.

Next BestRace 6 – Dark Energy (#3) $3.60 with Sportsbet

Best Value at Gosford – Just Strolling

Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes saddle up Just Strolling in race three, and while this three-year-old gelding has never beaten a runner home in his two career starts, he lands in a winnable race here. The son of Exceed And Excel debuted at Caulfield in a $125,000 race behind Picarones and was eased down in the straight with the rider reporting that something felt amiss, and then he went to Warwick Farm and was beaten 6.5 lengths to Overpass, who has subsequently finished sixth in the Coolmore Stud Stakes, just 4.4 lengths behind Home Affairs. Just Strolling has since been gelded, while the blinkers come off for the first time and the winkers go on for the first time, which should result in plenty of improvement. Tim Clark can try to control things from barrier five.

Best ValueRace 3 – Just Strolling (#7) $7 with Sportsbet
