Premier Brisbane trainer Tony Gollan (c) is getting his spring team ready for interstate races.

An upcoming set of barrier trials at Doomben is looming as D-Day for trainer Tony Gollan’s spring plans.

The premier Brisbane trainer will trial nearly all his likely Sydney and Melbourne spring aspirants on Tuesday week.

Leading the way will be unbeaten four-year-old Zoustyle who is headed to the Concorde Stakes at Randwick on September 7.

Zoustyle, who has had six starts, had a light a winter, winning in stakes company before being sent for a spell.

“His first spring run is set in stone in the Concorde provided he trials well,” Gollan said.

“But after that we have plenty of options in both Sydney and Melbourne. I know everything from The Everest down is being mentioned but I am inclined to wait before getting too excited.”

Gollan will also trial Garibaldi, Vincere Volare and Niedorp at Doomben.

“Garibaldi will run in Brisbane on August 31 and then head to the Danehill Stakes in Melbourne. Vincere Volare and Niedorp are ideal for some the fillies races but again we will see how they trial,” he said.

Gollan also said some of his comments about a new purpose-built training complex being mooted in Sydney may have been misconstrued to indicate he intended to move south.

“I said the Sydney training centre was a wonderful idea and would be tempting but I am not going anywhere,” he said.

“I am looking forward to the new season where I am expecting a challenge from some other big stables for the premiership.”

Gollan started the new season with the win of Six Sigmas at Doomben on Saturday.

“He should be in for a big campaign because I thought they might be a bit sharp for him at 1200 metres,” Gollan.

“He will get out to 1600 and should win more races this time in.”
