Geraldton tips & form for Thursday, March 15

GERALDTON is the west’s sole meet this Thursday and a solid seven race card awaits.

This will be a twilight meet for the east coast of Australia, which will make for entertaining viewing, so let’s get stuck into the tips to make the race-day all the more exciting.

Race 1 – Benchmark 70+ (1113m)

Audience was seeking a hat-trick last-start when it finished dead-last in a 14 horse field. The horse lost this race at the start, and a decent getaway here should see it bounce right back to top-tier form.

Race 1 tip: Audience to win ($2.30 at Neds)

Race 2 – Maiden (1313m)

Kintail missed out by a nose on debut back on February 23 and we think it can go one better here. That debut run was highly encouraging and from a good draw here it will be right in the mix here.

Race 2 tip: Kintail to win ($5 at William Hill)

Race 3 – Class 5 Hanicap (1413m)

Juendis has a lot of factors in its favour here. The horse has progressed well across its two return runs, and has three placings from four third-up runs. Watch for a strong showing from barrier three.

Race 3 tip: Juendis to win ($16 at Sportsbet)

Race 4 – Class 2 Handicap (1618m)

A third placed finish last-start at Ascot boosts our confidence that Sadlers Hills can deliver here. This is a drop in class from Western Australia’s premiere track and we believe the four-year-old can win for a second time from five attempts at Geraldton.

Race 4 tip: Sadlers Hills to win ($2.45 at Sportsbet)

Race 5 – Class 2 (1213m)

A pair of second placed finishes has us certain that Trade Talk will be hard to beat here. Although the gelding has never won before at Geraldton, it has six placings from nine runs. Trade Talk will be the horse to beat.

Race 5 tip: Trade Talk to win ($5 at William Hill)

Race 6 – Class 2 (1213m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182733_06]

Last-start winner Trademark will carry 62kg in this race, but the lead-in win makes us believe it can go back-to-back. The win was dominant and at this level on March 3. This is well within Trademark’s grasp.

Race 6 tip: Trademark to win ($2.30 at Neds)

Race 7 – Benchmark 58+ (1825m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1182733_07]

Superior Smile drops in class here and is the horse to beat. The horse resumed in an open handicap at Ascot last-time out, and this is a much easier task. We’re backing Superior Smile in.

Race 7 tip: Superior Smile to win ($4.60 at Crownbet)
