Geelong racing preview – January 27, 2021
The midweek twilight racing season continues this Wednesday as Geelong hosts an eight-race card. The track has come up as a Good 4 for racing, while the rail is out 4m from the 800m-350m and then true for the remainder of the course. The first at Geelong is set to jump at 3:40pm AEDT.
Best Bet: Firecat
The Mitch Freedman-trained Firecat comes to this Geelong maiden following an unlucky runner-up performance on debut at Pakenham on January 14. Although she had plenty of market support that day, the filly had to settle three wide with no cover towards the rear of the field and was beaten by just over a length. This time, jumping from barrier two, she looks hard to go past in the opening event on the Geelong card. Jordan Childs will look to settle her in the first half of the field, and if she shows the turn of foot she did off a wide run last time, she will be hard to hold out.

Next Best: Toyz On Fire
Toyz On Fire resumed at Moonee Valley on December 18 but failed to make any impression on her return. She is a galloper who naturally settles towards the rear of the field and tries to storm down the outside, so Luke Currie will look to drift back from barrier one and loop the field with a swooping run. If the three-year-old filly displays anything like the form she showed in her debut campaign, she will be hard to hold out in the final leg of the Geelong quaddie on Wednesday.

Best Value: Stylish Enuff
It was a strong performance on debut from the Aaron Purcell-trained Stylish Enuff at Warrnambool on January 10. The three-year-old colt was an all-the-way winner and maps to lead the field again in his second career run after drawing the carpark barrier (12) at Geelong in the second leg of the quaddie. In a race bereft of early pace, he should get a quiet enough time of it out in front and could prove too speedy despite the step up to Class 1 company.
Race 6 – Stylish Enuff (#6)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1360005_06]
