A nine-race card is scheduled to be held at Geelong on Friday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s Victorian form analyst brings you the best bets, odds comparison and quaddie selections for the meeting. The track is rated a Soft 7 and the rail is out 7m, with the first race set to go at 12:30pm AEST.

Geelong Best Bet: Queen Of Sass

We were with the Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra-trained Queen Of Sass at Wangaratta on June 21 when she finished a close second behind Turn Back Time. In both of her runs to begin her career she has been beaten by the narrowest possible margin, but she strikes a winnable maiden at Geelong on Friday. The in-form Damian Lane sticks on board, and from barrier 11 we expect Frosty to look for the rails and dictate terms. With a quiet time expected out in front, Lane should be able to judge the front-running ride to perfection and give this Deep Field filly a much-deserved maiden win.

Best BetRace 3 – Queen Of Sass (#11) $2.10 with Sportsbet

Next Best at Geelong: Feuermond

The Lindsey Smith-trained Feuermond is set to return from a six-month spell and strikes a winnable BM64 first-up. Despite benefiting over further in his initial campaign, he showed enough in his lone start at 1400m to suggest he can handle the 1530m on Friday. Josh Richards is fresh off four winners at Pakenham on Tuesday, and his 2kg claim brings the weight down to a manageable 59.5kg on rain-affected going. He is undefeated on soft ground and with a well-judged ride there is no reason why he cannot make it three wins from three starts on soft ground.

Next BestRace 9 – Feuermond (#1) $2.90 with Sportsbet

Geelong Value Bet: Typhoon Harmony

Peter Gelagotis sends Typhoon Harmony back to Geelong, the scene of his last-start victory over 1112m on June 18. He looked to have been a good thing beaten that day until he saw clear air at the 150m and charged home to get up in impressive fashion. Young apprentice Talia Chapman retains the ride on Friday, and her 4kg claim gets this Written Tycoon gelding in with just 57.5kg on his back. Expect Chapman to have him settled in the second half of the field, where he can then build through the gears and savage the line late yet again.

Best ValueRace 6 – Typhoon Harmony (#2) $4.20 with Sportsbet
