A sharp improvement is expected from Heavenly Descent after finishing second in a tough little field at Sandown in testing conditions. That race was at benchmark 84 level, which means if it runs up to standard it will be take some beating here.
Race 1 tip: Heavenly Descent to win ($3.90 at Neds)
Race 2 – Benchmark 70 (1500m)

Pleasuring only narrowly missed out last time at the ‘bool and had plenty of excuses that day. The horse comes into this event without a race win to its name, but the class factor is evident and the form is hard to fault. The rock-bottom weight will be beneficial and we are anticipating a breakthrough win here.
Race 2 tip: Pleasuring to win ($3.60 at Crownbet)
Race 3 – Benchmark 64 (1500m)

Get Ya Kicks won well at Wangaratta last-start as a short-priced favourite and we are backing it to go well in the city. It has placed before at the Valley and at the distance, and the huge price around makes the horse a very enticing bet.
Race 3 tip: Get Ya Kicks to win at Neds
Race 4 – Benchmark 78 (2040m)

There was no shame in The Thug’s defeat to Last Week at the Valley just over seven days ago. The Weir runner was overdue for a win and had the perfect run after being camped behind the speed. The Thug still battled on well to claim second and a 2kg relief in weights will be a huge factor here.
Race 4 tip: The Thug to win at ($5.50 William Hill)
Race 5 – Handicap (2500m)

Imperial Aviator is third-up on Saturday and it has won at that point in the preparation in the past. The Waterhouse and Bott runner won well at Rosehill last time out, and son of Paco Boy looks extremely hard to beat here in its Victorian debut.
Imperial Aviator is our best bet of the day at Moonee Valley
Race 5 tip: Imperial Aviator to win ($2.45 at Neds)
Race 6 – Benchmark 64 (1000m)

Just Hifalutin won stylishly at the Valley last time out, which was its second win from three starts. The horse is undefeated at the distance across three attempts, and the debut at the Valley was a success last week, so we are backing it to again do the business.
Just Hifalutin is our next best bet of the day at Moonee Valley
Race 6 tip: Just Hifalutin to win ($6 at CrownBet)
Race 7 – Ladbrokes VOBIS Gold Carat (1200m)

Muraahib at its best takes this race out easily. The Hayes, Hayes and Daberning runner resumes after a two and a half month absence from the track, and a first-up record of one win and a placing from two starts and is a notch or two above the majority of the field here.
Race 7 tip: Muraahib to win ($2.25 at CrownBet)
Race 8 – Benchmark 84 (1000m)
[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1175972_08]
Wise Hero is a progressive type that has only missed the first two placings once in its six race career. The horse resumed well on December 9, missing out by a short head and it has won second-up in the past. The four-year-old looks well placed to win here.
Race 8 tip: Wise Hero to win ($5.50 at Sportsbet)
Race 9 – Benchmark 84 (1500m)

Widgee Turf won well last time out and looks ready to back it up in the final event on the card at the Valley. The horse won powerfully upon resumption at Sandown at the beginning of the month, and a previous second-up win boosts the confidence that it can again salute on Saturday.
Race 8 tip: Widgee Turf to win ($2.90 at Sportsbet)
